QuantumShield Technologies (QST) is an innovative startup dedicated to transforming the energy storage industry through sodium-ion battery technology. The company aims to provide a scalable and cost-effective alternative to lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Its sodium-ion technology offers enhanced safety, exceptional performance in cold temperatures, and greater raw material availability.
This project focused on identifying the most suitable locations within the U.S. for QST’s first large-scale production facility.
Our team conducted a comprehensive site selection analysis, evaluating 10 key factors essential to the company’s operational success. These factors include Raw Materials and Supply Chain, Market Proximity, Labor and Workforce, Utilities and Infrastructure, Economic and Policy Incentives, Regulatory and Environmental Factors, Safety and Security, Energy and Sustainability, Competitor Landscape, and Cost-Growth Factors. By leveraging data-driven methodologies and weighing out the priority of each factor, the project identified top potential sites that are suitable for a sodium-ion battery manufacturing facility with the greatest scores based on our factor analysis. These recommendations will help ensure that the selected sites support efficient production, minimize costs, and align with the company’s sustainability goals.
This project will play a crucial role in QST’s expansion strategy, positioning the company for long-term success in the energy storage industry and contributing to the broader transition toward renewable energy solutions.
